Electrical Design Engineer is required ASAP for a permanent role in Knutsford, WA16. This role attracts a salary of £26,000 – £32,000 (DoE). The basic working week is 37.5 hours (Mon – Fri) and the working pattern is 8.00am – 4.30pm with possibility of some hybrid working on completion of probationary / training period

The client will consider candidates who have at least a HND (preferably degree qualified) in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, preferably with one years’ relevant work experience and have working knowledge and experience of using electrical CAD Package (EPlan desirable).

The Package:

Basic salary: £26,000 – £32,000 per annum (DoE)

Benefits include:

25 days holiday + B/Hols

– Hours of work: 37.5, Mon – Fri 8am – 4:30pm (1 hour lunch), possibility of some hybrid working on completion of probationary / training period

– Group Personal Pension Plan – Company contributes 5% after three pension years of service Company contribution is backdated to start date. Employer currently contributes 3%, Candidate has to put in minimum of 4% under auto enrolment.

– Death in service benefit (2x Annual Salary).

– Annual Bonus (eligible after being employed for a complete financial company year. Availability of annual bonus depends on company performance and is discretionary).

– Rest room with TV, drinks and snacks machine, fridges, microwaves and sandwich ordering service.

The Role:

As the Electrical Design Engineer you will be primarily responsible for designing all electrical systems for Packaging Automation’s equipment in accordance with customer requirements and current safety, legislative and directive guidelines.

In the job you’ll be tasked with the following:

– Ensure the accurate and timely production of electrical circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams and cubicle layout drawings in accordance with the customer requirements.

– Process electrical engineering design changes

– Liaise with the Mechanical Design Engineers to ensure that the machine design is electrically and mechanically compatible.

– Liaise with shop floor to relay accurate machine build information.

– Prove the machine after manufacture, prior to delivery on customer site rectifying any design / programme faults where necessary.

– Liaise with the appropriate Project Engineer

– Where necessary respond promptly to requests to attend customer sites for the purpose of breakdown of machines.

– Adhere to customer’s factory rules and hygiene regulations and read their Health and Safety Notices to Contractors where appropriate.

– Ensure that service / fault finding activity is arranged to cause minimum disruption to customer and that situations are resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible liaising with the customer as required.

– Report your findings and progress to the Systems Manager/ Projects Manager / Service Office and Design as appropriate.

– Maintain appropriate documentation and ensure that all unused components are returned to stores.

– Assist customers and colleagues with problems that arise offering practical and appropriate solutions.

– Deal professionally, competently and courteously with customers, suppliers and colleagues in verbal and written communications.

– Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.

– Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures and carry out all activities in a manner which is responsible and safe to yourself and others.

– Develop positive relationships with all you come into contact with.

– Contribute positively to the team and company morale and spirit.

– Accept responsibility for the quality of your work and get it right first time.

– To carry out any other duties as requested.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this Electrical Design Engineer role will be qualified to minimum HND level in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics (degree desirable) and have some recent relevant work experience (1-2 years desirable)

In addition, you’ll ideally have some or all of the following experience, skills or characteristics:

– Computer literate – Microsoft Office suite, incl. MS Teams

– Experience of working to deadlines

– Any Electrical CAD package (EPlan Software desirable)

– Electrical Safety Awareness

– Organised, methodical, diligent

– Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy

– Critical thinking and quality focussed approach to decision making

– Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing with all stakeholders

– Takes pride in their work

– Tenacious, makes things happen

– Flexible and adaptable and open to change

– Collaborative work ethic

– Able to work mainly at PA site with some opportunity for Hybrid working upon completion of training

– Able to travel at short notice and be away from home from time to time

– Full UK driving licence

– Willingness to work on-site where knowledge and expertise requires it.

– Competent generation of RAMS docs
