Electrical Project Engineer

We are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to work on a permanent basis in the nuclear industry based near Lancaster.

Salary is negotiable, depending on experience.

* Identifying project requirements – project values range from £100k to £5M

* Working within multi-disciplinary teams to plan, manage, co-ordinate and deliver complex engineering schemes in accordance with Client expectations and Nuclear Site Licence conditions

* Drafting project documentation such as Project Definition Documents, Project Quality Plans, Project Health and Safety Plans, Method Statements, Risk Assessments

* Producing project delivery plans and monitoring progress

* Co-ordinating contractors and designers in development and acceptance of proposals through to delivery of contracted works on site

* Supervising and setting contractors to work

* Producing Work Order Cards and managing works in line with the requirements of the Client’s Work Management process



* Engineering degree qualified with relevant industry experience – Electrical with experience of close working with other disciplines
* Knowledge of or worked in similar regulated process industries
* PE /PM background
* Good leadership qualities, highly motivated, well organised and capable of working within a closely knit team
* Able to respond well to the demands of working in the environment of a nuclear power plant
* Relevant experience within engineering/construction projects
* Knowledge and experience of working with Health & Safety legislation including Construction Design Management Regulations
* Experience in developing risk logs and managing project risks
* Experience of undertaking front end optioneering activities and presenting proposals to Stakeholders for agreement
* Strong understanding of the need for Quality within the project environment including intent and appropriate application of Quality Assurance process and activities
* Suitable industry experience of testing and commissioning activities
* Planning, budget and cost monitoring
* Commercial awareness
* Well versed in the use of IT packages such as MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Primavera P6 and have suitable relevant Project experience
* Excellent English language skills – oral and written

* BPSS level security clearance required


* Specific experience of electrical, generator or large rotating machinery projects would be an advantage
* APMP qualified
* Membership of an appropriate professional institution would be an advantage
* Previous experience of working on nuclear sites beneficial but not essential
