Employee Engagement Officer

We’re looking for a talented Employee Engagement Officer to work on a long term contract for a large engineering client based in the Manchester area.

Rate is £25.55 PAYE per hour plus holiday pay, pension, 4 day working week – Monday to Thursday

The Role

Based in the Manchester area, as the Employee Engagement Officer you will be primarily responsible for continually improving the employee experience through managing projects related to, or containing elements of positive culture change; employee engagement; EDI (equality, diversity and inclusion); corporate social responsibility and internal communications.

In the job you’ll be tasked with the following:

– Optimising the impact of existing engagement programmes to improve the employee experience in all areas in line with the engagement strategy.

– Devising, and/or review, and implementation of new engagement initiatives. Including working with managers to optimise the use of existing engagement tools.

– Working collaboratively with departments to support specific engagement programmes that contribute to the bottom-line business performance and improvement (e.g. Lean Programme).

– Using engagement tools such as listening groups to gauge the impact of programmes and gain an insight into how to continually improve the employee experience.

– Leading the company’s equality, diversity and inclusion programme and creating and launching interesting, engaging initiatives to continually improve the EDI performance of the business.

– Delivering outstanding, engaging, and attractive communications to employees at all levels of the business.

– Guiding, coaching and persuading Project Leaders in engaging and communicating with their target audience(s).

– Being a key member of the positive culture project which seeks to continually improve the company’s already good culture.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this Employee Engagement Officer role will have relevant experience of small to mid-size project management and execution.

You’ll also need experience of:

– Effectively communicating at all levels of the business using multiple medias in innovative, engaging, and creative ways.

– Persuading, guiding and influencing effectively and efficiently.

– Engaging and motivating diverse stakeholders to progress towards common goals.

– Coaching techniques and methodology.

– Creating and implementing initiatives relating to increasing employee engagement.

In addition, you’ll need the following:

– Communications related qualifications, coaching accreditation and project management related qualification are all desireable but not essential.

– Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word and PowerPoint proficiency with a basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

– Advanced communication techniques.

– Strong organisational skills.

– A flexible, adaptable, assertive and results orientated mindset.
