Group Engineering Design Manager

We’re looking to recruit a Group Engineering Design Manager for a specialist manufacturer based in Rochdale. You will be responsible for the product engineering and design and projects department within the company, running and developing the design department to meet the needs of a changing and evolving company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the quality standards of the company are fulfilled throughout all areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure that technical solutions are robust and comply with all requirements.
  • Plan and manage the departments work load to ensure that deliverables are met with high quality and within budget.
  • Implement best fit NPD practices of DMEDI and 5 gate processes for larger projects at a level that supports the business needs.
  • Ensure that fast track innovation projects are managed and delivered in a timely fashion.
  • Co-ordinate the activities of the design team and contractors in line with programme critical dates.
  • Involvement with design strategy and approach.
  • Technical responsibility for all mechanical design activity.
  • Responsible for department budget.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of degree level qualification – preferably Chartership.
  • Management experience.
  • Have a good understanding of compliance and be well versed with EU Directives, standards and associated legal technical conformance files.

Salary

  • Salary – Negotiable depending on experience.
  • Annual Bonus – Up to 5%
  • Pension scheme – Auto Enrolment
