We are looking for a HVAC Plant Layout Engineer with experience of general HVAC layout rules for industrial projects and nuclear experience, for a permanent position in Bristol. Salary up to £37,000 per annum depending on experience.

Working as the successful HVAC Plant Layout Engineer you will have 2D and 3D design software experience (AutoCAD, Navisworks) and knowledge of the general operation of a nuclear power station and the associated safety aspects (in particular, aspects relating to flooding, fire, radiological protection, high energy line ruptures, etc). You will be part of a large integrated team seconded into the Client team focused on providing high quality design, engineering knowledge & expertise on the Hinkley Point C project.

The HVAC Plant Layout Engineer assists the principal HVAC Engineer and Layout Team Lead in the technical coordination, production and monitoring of layout engineering studies for one or more buildings by proposing technical solutions.

Main Activities:

General layout engineering

*Request the input data for the layout engineering of the building (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, equipment data, etc.), analyses them and verifies their technical consistency.

*Carries out layout engineering or makes proposals to improve the layout and solve multi-disciplinary layout issues.

*Lays out the various HVAC equipment.

*Design HVAC ducts in the 3D model.

*Carries out checks of the consistency between the process & instrumentation diagrams and the 3D model.

*Writes the related technical documents (progress reports, change impact analysis, design procedures, handover reports to manufacturing suppliers, etc.)

*Perform surveillance activities on Detail designer engineering production.

*Produce packages to support maturity reviews with main Stakeholders.

Progress monitoring and change management

*Manages and monitors the modifications requested by the various engineering teams.

*Manage the list of input data to be used to perform the 3D design

*Anticipates and raises alerts on open technical points.

*Regularly carries out layout engineering reviews (with all the engineering teams involved).

Essential qualifications:

*Qualified to engineering degree level or equivalent experience in one or more areas of engineering: piping engineering, mechanical, HVAC, safety

*Good knowledge of other 2D and 3D design software (AutoCAD, Navisworks)

*Good knowledge and understanding of general HVAC layout rules for an industrial project

*Knowledge of the general operation of a nuclear power station and the associated safety aspects (in particular, aspects relating to flooding, fire, radiological protection, high energy line ruptures, etc.)

*Good communication and interpersonal skills

*Fluent in English – written & verbal

* MS Office & Outlook

Desirable:

*Knowledge and experience of using PDMS (PDMS knowledge not mandatory)

*Experience in previous EPR or other nuclear projects

*Knowledge of how a PWR operate

*Experience of working in a fast pace engineering project environment

*French language skills – written & verbal

Security Clearance: BPSS level security clearance required. You will either have it or be eligible to attain it. The criteria is:

*Right to Work – Verification of Nationality, ID documentation and Immigration status

*Identity – ID Data check (electronic identity authentication – name, address, aliases, links, accounts etc.)

*Criminal Records – Search for ‘unspent’ convictions (Basic Disclosure)

*Employment checks – Confirmation of 3 years (minimum) Employment History / Activity
