Instrumentation Calibration Engineer

The Role:

In the Instrumentation Engineer role you will be primarily responsible for undertaking various calibrations both ISO9001/17025 accredited in accordance with company procedures, UKAS regulations, recognised specifications, etc while calibrating measuring instrumentation to traceable and accredited standards.

Specific tasks include:

– Performing calibration of customer equipment using approved procedures and good metrology practice.

– Ensuring all certificates and records are completed accurately; check completion dates and worksheet instructions to ensure work is completed on time.

– Participating in UKAS and customer surveillance and accreditation audits.

– Calibration of temperature instrumentation (thermocouples and readouts) to in-house or national/international standards.

– Completing test schedules & technical reports to effect optimum efficiency of the calibration area.

– Maintaining the calibration information database and filing system.

– The maintenance of uncertainty budgets and procedures as appropriate to the task in hand.

– Following company health and safety guidelines.

The Candidate:

To be the right person for Instrumentation Engineer role you will need direct experience of instrument calibration and calibrating measuring instrumentation to national standards.

We also need you to have prior experience of inspection/calibration experience in manufacturing, aerospace or the automotive sector.

It’s also essential that you’ve got experience of working within a customer focused environment.

It’s important that you also have the following:

– A technical qualification such as degree, HND or HNC.

– Good understanding of calibration practices and theories.

– Knowledge of BS EN ISO/IEC 17025.

– Good interpersonal and communication skills.

The Package:

The basic salary for the Instrumentation Engineer role is between £25,000 – £30,000 per annum.
