Lead Assembly and Control Panel Test Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Assembly and Control Panel Test Engineer to work on a permanent basis in the Manchester area.

Salary is up to £36,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Our client is seeking someone with an Electrical Engineering qualification, High capability in electrical & mechanical fault finding, Full understanding of single & three phase circuit protection installations.

You will have good Communication skills and the ability to integrate into a specialised team, working closely with FBA & Control Panel functions.

Duties will include:

To undertake and ensure all FBA and Control Panel test work is managed and apportioned to self & team members per priority scheduling, ensuring at all times that work is conducted in a safe manner and to the required quality and efficiency levels.

The role entails Electrical Test work at final point of release on bespoke and standard product output per defined specification.

Commitment to the upkeep and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (ISO 9001 certification) through full involvement in the internal process audit schedule – local Operating Procedures & HQ driven Q-Gate obligations.

Flexibility to undertake cross-departmental tasks at the discretion of local leadership in order to provide support in core areas when called upon.

This is a Lead Test & Quality Engineer role with contribution to the wider Quality Department operational requirements.

Key tasks:

Electrical Test work at final point of release on FBA and Control Panel Commercial Circuit Protection standard & bespoke product output and the creation of highly detailed reporting thereon.

Measuring & recording / displaying all local defined KPI & non-conformance data relative to FBA and Control Panel product.

Providing all local & HQ reportable statistics each month to the Q Masterfile relative to FBA and Control Panel product.

Involvement in RP4 & Control Panel customer / site issue investigations, as required by RP4 Core Team & Department Leadership.

Management, control and task allocation covering all Test throughput of FBA and Control Panel product.

Engagement and liaison with appropriate functions regarding Test issue resolution (ie – schematic / drawing errors, build / technical / design issues, etc.) leading to continuous improvement opportunities.

Provide adequate training / cross-training for existing / future Test & Quality Engineers across FBA & Control Panel product including support / training for Control Panel Wirepersons.

Key Objectives:

To service FBA and Control Panel Product Test requirements promptly, safely and accurately.

To ensure on-time supply, maintenance, display & communication of FBA & Control Panel KPI data.

To ensure prompt resolution of RP4 & Control Panel customer / site issues.

To support the Quality Operation in the delivery of Internal & HQ Quality Target Agreements.

To support the Quality operation in maintaining ISO9001 certification.
