An opportunity has arisen where we are looking to recruit a pro-active individual who can help lead a small team of engineers in a busy manufacturing environment. The successful applicant would be working as part of an established team and would be eager to help the company improve its efficiency and growth.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would have qualifications to at least but not essential as additional training could be offered to the right applicant:

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering Maintenance 60/40 or 70/30 mechanical/electrical bias or be able to prove they have enough work experience in this sector with references

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to use, repair and maintain machines and tools
  • Practical skills for repairing and maintaining equipment
  • Ability to lead a team and work with Production Management schedule downtime and prioritize breakdowns
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team to reach goals
  • Ability to liaise with machine manufacturers to find solutions to issues
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Be able to implement and maintain engineering stock levels for parts (create PPM kits)
  • Knowledge of practical PPM and be able to create and work to PPM schedules
  • Basic computer skills
  • Have a Pro-Active approach

Day-to-day tasks

  • Carrying out safety and planned maintenance checks
  • Finding and fixing faults
  • Replacing worn parts and ensuring the machine is fully operational
  • Cleaning machinery and educating operators on what to clean as part of their duties
  • Responding to emergency breakdowns
  • Ensuring paperwork is fully filled out
  • Ensuring the workshop is kept tidy and stock is allocated and labelled

Salary is negotiable dependant upon experince. Previous supervisory experience would be an advantage.
