We are recruiting a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to work for a large food manufacturer based in Leyland.

This is a Monday to Friday role working from 8am – 6pm or possibly even 8am – 5pm for the right person. Additional overtime is also readily available.

Engineers with an Electrical bias would be preffered although candidates with a slight Mechanical bias will also be considered as long as this is supported by good Electrical knowledge / experince.

The role:

Working within a fast paced food manufacturing facility you will be performing planned and reactive maintenance as required with the aim of reducing production down time.

To maintain a record of all work undertaken using the company’s systems and communicate any outstanding matters to the following shift via the shift handover meeting.

Continually improve safety record by reporting any physical safety risks and complying with H&S site standards.

Respond promptly to breakdowns, diagnose the cause of the problem and complete the necessary repairs.

Completing a risk assessment prior to undertaking any engineering task and ensure that the work is completed safely and in accordance with any available work instruction.

Ensuring that where the risk assessment highlights any potential risk of product contamination that all necessary precautions are taken to minimise this risk. Notifying Team Leader/Supervisor immediately if there is any possibility that product contamination may have occurred.

The ideal candidate

  • Apprentice trained engineer, HNC or a minimum of NVQ level 3 in Elecrical / Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • 17th / 18th Edition wiring regulations.
  • Minimum of 3 years previous FMCG / Food industry maintenance experience.

In return our client offer a starting salary of £34,000 – £38,000 dependant on suitable experience.

Training may also be provided should it be required in certain areas.
