Due to an increase in workload, we are recruiting a Paint Sprayer for my client based in Shipley. This is a 6 month contract.

The annual salary will be £27700 the hours are 37.5 per week, bonus on a pro rata basis which has paid out up to £2200 for the past number of years, Westfield Health Care and Pension.

The hours of work are 7:30 – 4:15 Mon to Thurs and 1 pm finish on Fridays.

Job purpose:

To work in a team to prepare components to a high standard. To prepare paint to customer specification and to spray components to high quality standards. To keep work area safe and tidy and work within the companies Health and safety procedures. Drive standards within the area and meet / improve the time scales issued for completing jobs.

To work within the company’s Health and safety policies and procedures..
Must be able to read drawings for identifying areas to mask up.
Responsible for prepping parts and assemblies for painting.
Must pay attention to detail and be able to mask to a high standard.
Utilise solvents, wire brushes and cloths for cleaning spray equipment, work benched and holding jigs for parts being sprayed.
Mix paint and other materials to manufacturers guide lines / specifications and to the right consistency.
Store paints in correct location.
Manage inventory of paints and equipment.
Ensure facility and spray equipment are in good condition and working order.
Responsible for identification and separation of non- conforming parts or material /assemblies and report them to the Team Leader.
Must be able to spray using gravity fed spray guns to a high standard.
Must complete all shift paperwork to a high standard and ensure it is legible.
Follow company requirements to select paint, and match colours of paint following specified colour charts.
Spot check work to ensure quality of work.
Support the construction of SOP’s for the paint area as and when required.
Ensure Training sheets are kept up to date so training matrix can be updated by assembly Team leader.
Ensure workplace standards are adhered to.
Report any hazards that may cause harm to yourself or a colleague.
Keep work area to 6’s standards and audit work areas when required.
Participate in any continuous improvement initiatives as and when required.
Be flexible and move to other areas you are trained as and when the business needs dictate.
To train others and pass on your skill level where required.
Communicate with on coming shift and carry out effective end of shift handover.
Provide on-the-job training to apprentices and new employees if required.
To have a can do attitude and embrace change with in the business

Knowledge of gravity fed paint spraying
Knowledge of mixing paints, storing of paints correctly and awareness of COSSH
Excellent attention to detail
Basic Lean principles

Minimum of two years’ experience in a paint shop, spraying large awkward shaped components down to the small delicate component
