Production Engineering Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Production Engineering Manager to be based in Wythenshaw on a permanent basis.

Purpose of the Role

  • Day to day management of a busy cross functional, multi-disciplined department, including time and attendance
  • Plan Processes for the manufacturing of parts across both manufacturing Wythenshawe site.
  • To ensure the production is manufactured safely and efficiently using effective processes
  • Manage the factory layouts to ensure Lean flow of production throughout all departments
  • Lead a team of skilled production engineers ensuring adequate training and process tools are available for them to effectively carry out day to day production engineering tasks
  • Analyse the outputs and information from the data capture system to ensure the business achieves the KPI targets
  • Ensure on-time delivery of all projects that go through production engineering

Key Tasks

  • On-time delivery of production engineering tasks
  • Monitor and maintain the Gemba data capture tool
  • Ownership of all production machinery, equipment and work areas
  • Provide process improvement expenditure justifications and ROI
  • Day to day management of production engineering team
  • Continuous improvement
  • Work on ensuring layouts for equipment are implemented

Qualifications

  • HNC, Equivalent or Higher in an engineering discipline
  • NEBOSH Health & Safety management
  • Siemens PBM level 3
  • Lean Practitioner Qualified
  • Prince 2 Project management
  • IMS Certification (Time study training course)

Skills

  • Knowledge and experience on production equipment including manufacturing machinery
  • Project management
  • Understanding of engineering drawings
  • Understanding of architectural drawings
  • Production flow knowledge gained through Lean practices
  • Proven team Leading skills
  • IMS Time study trained and good data analysis skills
