We are looking for a Project Engineer (Supply Chain/Procurement) for a permanent vacancy at Sizewell B Nuclear Power Station in Suffolk. The salary is negotiable, depending on experience.

Overview – This Project Engineer post is required to support works undertaken across a range of projects being delivered by Investment Delivery (ID) at Sizewell B nuclear power station during 2018 & beyond.

The candidate should have good leadership qualities, be highly motivated, well organised and capable of working within a closely knit team. They need to be able to respond well to the demands of working in the environment of a nuclear power plant.

Essential traits – being able to communicate, build relationships, be proactive and be part of a team.

Key Attributes: Success in the role will depend on a flexible working approach which includes supplier & other business unit visits necessary to support continuous improvement.

*Project(s) in Scope: Dry Fuel Store (DFS) – circa £8M

Principal Responsibilities:

*Maintain & manage the technical/quality aspects of the sites spares and equipment catalogue.

*Develop procurement specifications in conjunction with technical specialists and buyers.

*Maintain compliance with standards and arrangements applicable to the specification of plant spares & services and assist in the resolution of problems.

*Monitor and advise on shelf life extensions and plant refurbishment activities.

*Assist in addressing obsolescence issues, including reverse engineering.

*Support and underpin the Materials Planning process.

*Carry out QC and Store Hold inspections.

Please note:

*Travel costs for non-local candidates are not paid.

*May be asked to work unsociable hours during Station Outage and provide Weekend / Bank Holiday cover.

*Expected to attend site normal working hours Monday to Friday – 40hrs per week.

Essential:

*Educated to minimum HNC level in an engineering discipline with relevant industry experience

*Applicants must have a sound working knowledge of technical & quality assurance arrangements /standards applicable to the procurement of spare parts

*Good commercial awareness and the credibility necessary to represent the Company and the Supply Chain Group

*Able to work with SZB site operations, the Client & contractor project teams to integrate the project activities into the SZB Work Week Planning process

*Knowledge of or worked in similar regulated process industries

*Able to develop new ideas; both in generating suggestions and sharing good practice

*Works well in a team; displaying an open, honest and collaborative style with both internal and external stakeholders

*Able to communicate with individuals and groups to make a positive impact at meetings, workshops etc.

*Able to address problems in a logical manner, viewing them from several aspects and recommend suitable actions

*Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, able to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders (e.g. both technical and business)

*Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation including Construction (Design & Management) and Health and Safety at Work act

*Able to develop project definitions, scopes, Quality plans etc. & ensure seamlessly integrated with each other & site operations

*Proficient user of MS Office

*Accuracy, tenacity, diplomacy, results oriented

*Good organisational and time management skills

*Fluent English – written & verbal

Desirable:

*PMQ (APMP-level D) qualified

*Strong understanding of the need for Quality within the project environment including intent and appropriate application of Quality

*Have a working knowledge of EDF Investment Delivery (ID), EDF Site Work Management processes

*Membership of an appropriate professional institution would be an advantage

*Knowledge of budgets, cost control and commercial awareness would be beneficial

*French language – written & verbal
