Project Manager GPW Recruitment


We are looking for a Project Manager with experience of leading high value construction / engineering projects (chemical industry or similar) for a permanent position in the Northwich area. Salary of £50-60k per annum.

Working as the successful Project Manager you will take the lead on identified projects. The mixture of projects is diverse, however this post will be working on the contracts associated with a multi-national chemical company of high value. The Project Manager will be expected to work closely with members of the business and project teams to understand the requirements and deliver against them successfully.

The position would suit someone with recent successful experience leading high value construction/engineering projects and an individual who is seeking a challenge within a diverse fast paced industry. Your projects experience will include things such as plant new-builds and demolition.

Key attributes required:

*Minimum HNC in an engineering or relevant technical discipline, or equivalent experience

*Construction Safety/Safety Qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH, SMSTS)

*Able to communicate at different organisational levels internally and with Clients

*Good planning organisational skills

*Ability to influence and lead in a fast-paced and collaborative environment

*Proficiency in excel and word, plus would be considered advantageous with planning programme experience

*Can work to own initiative

*The role will require demonstrable project manager experience within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment, this is to include Principal Designer duty where required, for the purpose of client delivery and compliance.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities.

*To minimise cost and schedule changes through variation and planning management

*To monitor compliance for both the client and the key duty holders under CDM

*Ensure clear and timely communication is maintained between all project stakeholders

*Responsible for interpreting and managing the contractual requirements of the project

*Represent the Technical Director in design workshops where required

*To manage the project in accordance with industry best practice

*The Project Manager responds positively, objectively and proactively to any requests, concerns and feedback from clients or internal client facing staff and takes any necessary action to ensure project success, client satisfaction and project profitability

*On-site supervisory support, for the purpose of client compliance

There is IT support to allow to occasionally work from home (with agreement). Some travel may be required, pool vehicle provided.

The company that we are supplying this Project Manager to is a small consultancy, delivering projects across the UK within different sectors i.e. high end residential and industrial for and on behalf of clients. They are doing very well with a very healthy order book stretching for years and due to expansion they are seeking a Project Manager with an engineering background to support several multi-discipline projects. Working as the successful Project Manager you will be joining a small and very successful team and deliver a variety of major projects.
