We are looking for a Project Manager ASAP with good project engineering experience of mechanical equipment/process plant, for a permanent position in Cheshire, Salary c£40k plus car, bonus, medical cover, 25 days holiday plus statutory, pension, PHI and GIP. There will be ocassional site visits down south which may mean being away for a day or two at a time.

Working as the successful Project Manager, you will have experience of process engineering and equipment for industries such as food, dairy, beverage, pharma, chemical, utilities or home and personal care. Your engineering background will be to HNC or Apprentice with indenture level in an appropriate subject, or the equivalent experience.

The role will involve UK wide frequent travel as part of the UK Service Project Execution Team, reporting to the Head of Project Execution. You will be responsible for project delivery within the Equipment Business Area including but not limited to:

*Food Processing Equipment

*Separation (multiple industries)

*Decanting

*Liquid Processing (Food & Beverage)

Working for a leading engineering and equipment company, the role (Pre-Sales & Execution) will report to the Head of Project Execution for small scale UK based process projects (Value up to £1m) & large scale equipment projects. The role also involves:

*Responsible for the production of designs, technical and commercial proposals and project execution (detailed designs through commissioning). You will also project manage the projects.

*To undertake the day to day management of the company’s turnkey projects from a commercial & technical perspective.

*To deliver quality Project solutions within an agreed programme & cost framework.

*To manage projects in accordance with GPUK/PE Project Management Guidelines.

*To support onsite during installation & Commissioning.

Your experience/abilities will include some of the below:

*3+ years’ experience in Project engineering (Mechanical Equipment).

*Excellent troubleshooting ability.

*Excellent customer relation skills.

*Excellent documentation skills for team and customer use.

*Leading/Managing Process/Equipment Bids & Proposals.

*Client facing presentations / design-cost justification.

*Engineering and equipment supply for processes – food, dairy, beverage, pharma, chemical, Utility or home and personal care.

*Equipment specifications & data sheet.

*Equipment schedules.

*Pressure drop calculations, heating/cooling calculations & equipment load calculations.

*Equipment layout drawings.

*Pressure vessel design.

*Equipment selection & procurement.

*Equipment inspections.

*Site commissioning support.

Your skills will include some of the below:

*Independently produce designs (P&IDs, mass/energy balances) from ‘blank canvas’.

*Independently and accurately calculate process capacities, equipment and piping sizes.

*Independently assess risks and assure compliance to QSHE rules.

*Manage small projects (scope, changes, cost, time & quality).

*Manage small number of engineers and contractors as a project team.

*Have knowledge of manufacturing processes (liquids & solids), technology and equipment suppliers for food/dairy/beverage.

*Excellent communication, presentation and negotiating skills.

*Good knowledge of MS Office.

*Good knowledge of English.

*Excellent time keeping skills and willingness to write reports.

*Good Knowledge of technical writing.

*Experience of technical pre-sales and technical quotation writing.

Key Duties – Pre Sales:

*Support sales team with client visits and presentations.

*Translate the client requirements into technical solutions.

*Process, equipment and piping sizing.

*Development of enquiry stage P&IDs.

*Development of key assumptions, execution plan and scope boundaries.

*Costing of equipment/components supply.

*Support multiple functions to prepare their respective scope and costings.

*Consolidate costs and prepare an overall cost calculation.

*Consolidate plans and develop an overall execution plan and timeline.

Key Duties – Project Execution:

*Project manage with client visits and presentations.

*Project manage with change control and scope variations.

*Produce designs for P&IDs, Equipment Lists, Datasheets, Process and Functional Descriptions.

*Produce requests for quotations from sub-suppliers, review and obtain clarifications where required.

*Perform supplier’s bid analysis and recommend vendors to the project manager/supply chain manager.

*Review, with multiple functions, design documents and obtain clarifications where required.

*Review, with sub-suppliers, design documents and obtain clarifications where required.

*Maintain Project documentation in line with company procedures and policies to ensure compliance with design and QHSE standards.

*Writing of project documentation for modifications to existing customers sites (Process Descriptions or URS).

*Writing of project documentation for new plant equipment (Process Descriptions or URS).

*Project commissioning – and training of customer and client staff relating to changes.

Day to Day

You will have a willingness to learn new process and procedure and additional training will be provided. You will be happy to work either as part of a team or unsupervised on site.
