We’re looking for a talented QA Manager to work for our client.

They want to recruit someone with demonstrable experience of a project management environment, in the field of quality (expert in ISO 9001).

The Role:

As the QA Manager you will be primarily responsible for ensuring that processes needed for the quality management system (QMS) are established, implemented and maintained.

In the job you’ll be tasked with the following:

– Reporting to the project Managing Director and CBN board on the implementation, performance and effectiveness of the QMS and any need for improvement

– Ensuring the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the project organisation

– Liaising with the customer and external assessment body on all matters related to external accreditation processes

– Ensuring that the performance of the QMS is reviewed at planned intervals to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness

– Leading, directing and developing the qa/qc/surveillance team and ensure they receive suitable training and information needed to fulfil their roles and responsibilities

– Monitoring Quality Controls of the project, and suppliers, to ensure that the level of nuclear quality is provided, and suitable life time quality records are maintained

– Ensuring that orders sent to suppliers contain quality clauses

– Monitoring non-compliance procedures, and ensuring that effective preventive and corrective actions are taken

– Providing support to the project Managing Director on the continuous improvement. Across the whole project and increase operational efficiency

– Leading an effective nuclear and industrial safety culture within the business and the supply chain

– Writing, reviewing and approving project quality plans, QA procedures, process and instructions

– Ensuring QRA implementation, QRA technical control and verification

– Managing & Co-ordinating internal and external audits; including the timely resolution of findings

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this QA Manager role will have relevant experience of a project management environment, in the field of quality (expert in ISO 9001).

You’ll also need experience of:

– Driving quality management and improvement

– The nuclear field

– A manufacturing environment including operations such as dimensional tolerance, welding, machining, heat treatment, and NDE

– Establishing and maintaining a healthy nuclear safety culture

In addition, you’ll need the following:

– B.S. Degree or equivalent in an engineering or technical field

– Master of science in quality assurance

– Professional body ( for example IMECHE)

– Nuclear skills academy triple bar (new build) or equivalent

– CCNSG – supervising safety course or equivalent

– IIF behavioural safety or equivalent

– An excellent understanding of the principles of operating and leading organisations and teams with robust nuclear and industrial safety cultures

– In depth knowledge of implementing and developing quality management systems (ISO 9001)

– Detailed knowledge & understanding of the nuclear regulation and regulatory principles, including nuclear standards (RCCM) and requirements, and their application within organisations and projects

– Detailed working knowledge of manufacturing processes and control methods (welding, NDE…)

– Detailed knowledge & understanding of the audit principles and method

– Senior professional skills in leading a team

– Skills in team building and establishing effective operating cultures in highly regulated / safety critical environments

– Skills at working within multi-national organisations or projects; and overcoming cultural and geographical barriers

– Effective communication, effective decision making and influencing skills

– Skills in questioning attitude, problem identification, and establishing an environment for raising concerns

– Skills creating and maintaining a respectful work environment

– Effective analytical skills

The Package:

Basic salary: £95,000 – £100,000 per annum

– 25 days holiday

– Company pension

– 5% com 3% from person

– Car allowance £450 per month

– 15% bonus per annum max
