We are looking for a QA & Standards Engineer with good quality and engineering experience for a permanent position in the Congleton area paying circa £30,000 per annum depending on suitability, plus benefits.

Working as the successful QA & Standards Engineer you will be involved generally in the day to day Quality Assurance and Standards requirements. This position is responsible for maintaining & developing the Company Quality System in conjunction with the Production Manager. This is to involve but is not limited to the development implementation, monitoring and reviewing of procedures and systems applicable to the operation of business activities carried out by the Company, who are a designer, manufacturer and installer of industrial process equipment.

Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance

*Development of procedures and systems, implement, monitor and review.

*The briefing of procedures to all staff.

*Assist with the accreditation of the Company to a recognised Quality Standard.

*Assist with continued accreditation to ATEX certification.

*Assist with the preparation and implementation of Quality Plans for specific projects.

*Monitor the in process completion of the Project plan and file accordingly on completion.

*Assist with preparation for the Company Annual Quality Review.

Quality Control

*Undertake in process & finished goods inspection to satisfy the requirements of the Company Quality System

*To assist with internal audits of the Company Quality System.

*To assist with audits of suppliers in accordance with the Company Supplier Approval Procedure.

*Regular checking of job sheets to ensure task sign off.

*Completion of finished product checklists and filing accordingly.

*Checking issue status of drawings issued for production purposes to ensure they are latest issue, are signed for and comply with the transmittal notice.

*Removal from production any drawing that is superseded or withdrawn.

*Checking of goods inwards where dimensional checks are required.

*Complete the required design change form where changes to design are identified, liaise with design office and agree solution, brief shop floor staff on outcome.

*Notifying the Production Manager of any change in design that requires additional costs to the Company or client in order that appropriate cost analysis or cost recovery is attained.

*Manage the Company calibration system for all relevant equipment.

*Manage the Company Non Conformance system including Customer complaints and circulating appropriately amongst areas of the Company affected.

*Producing statistics of non-conformances, Customer Complaints for review at monthly Management / Board meetings and annual review.

Personal / General

*Ensure that own personal development and training is planned to achieve maximum impact on Company performance.

*Ensure that progress against personal development is monitored and appraised at regular intervals.

*To undertake all work in a manner that maintains the company policy on Health, Safety & the Environment.

*To act as a stand in to cover on annual leave. (Where scope permits)

*To assist the management of the company by developing the quality system, recommending where appropriate, on improved procedures, processes, methods of work.

*To undertake such duties as may be decided upon and agreed from time to time.

Attributes and Qualifications:

Quality based qualification or working towards – ISO 9001 2015 preferred, good engineering experience minimum.

Engineering qualification – HNC or Degree preferred, NVQ Level 3 minimum.

Instrument knowledge – Full use of measuring equipment preferred, Vernier or micrometer minimum knowledge minimum.

Quality system knowledge – Worked with ISO standards preferred, Worked in a quality environment minimum.

Able to work unsupervised – Previous experience preferred, Previous experience minimum

Driving Licence – Full & Clean preferred, Full minimum
