Experienced Quality Manager required for a successful and long established manufacturer of specialist organic and inorganic products.

An experienced Quality Manager is required for immediate start, we are seeking an individual with a proven track record in Quality and the management of an ISO Accredited QMS / EMS, who ideally also has a strong technical bias combined with project management experience. A quality focussed, driven approach to work is also very important. The position has a strong customer focus and overseas travel may be part of the role.

As the Quality Manager, you will manage the quality department with 2 direct reports and provide support and expertise across the business units, with particular emphasis on satisfying the demands and needs of customers and in addition, creating added value.

Reporting to the Operations Director you will be working very closely with the Production Department and other departments on site.

Your main duties will include, although not limited to:

· To recruit, train, motivate, retain and manage high calibre QC staff. Ensuring that duties are performed to a consistently high standard
· To manage, maintain and develop the QMS and EMS across the organisation, including the development of the management team in all aspects of the requirements of the systems
· To react to change and implement any necessary amendments to the QMS/EMS as required
· To ensure that good quality products are manufactured within an agreed timescale
· To manage a customer focussed department, providing high quality systems, personnel and communication
· To act as primary contact for all issues relating to customer complaints and requests for information relating to product supply and quality
· To contribute to the development and implementation of manufacturing and testing systems and procedures via a process of continual reassessment and improvement of the company’s manufacturing capabilities and product quality
· Delivery of information relating to quality performance to the management team to enhance their reputation as a customer focussed organisation
· To contribute to the development and implementation of manufacturing and testing systems and procedures via a process of continual reassessment and improvement of the company’s manufacturing capabilities and product quality
· Work with all Managers and site personnel to drive improvement on site, through effective communication and training in all departments
· To manage and maintain all laboratory systems including the computer database management and design
· To ensure compliance with all legislative requirements relating to health and safety and to promote a positive health and safety culture – being an active member of the change process
· Proactively support the site continuous improvement drives with focus on waste reduction, energy reduction and efficiency
· To identify areas for improvement and innovation within the function and across departments
· Take the lead, ensuring project work is prioritised and target completion dates are met
· Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and organisation within the department
· Maintenance of current/new MSDS and TDS to ensure compliance to ECHA/CLP regulations.
· Maintenance of operational systems with respect to REACH/RoHS/DSEAR requirements.

To be considered for the role of Quality Manager, you will ideally have the following experience, skills, qualifications and attributes:

· Degree in Chemistry.
· Experience of laboratory management.
· Experience of the management of an accredited QMS/EMS including hosting external audit and conducting internal audits.
· Awareness of Health and Safety regulations including risk assessment.
· Quality focussed with a high attention to detail.
· Hands on attitude with the ability to lead from the front.
· Ability to work as part of a cross functional team.
· Driven, with the tenacity to get the job done.
· Strong integrity.
· Confident, professional with a ‘can do’ attitude.
· Technically creative with exceptional fault finding and problem solving skills.
· Excellent communication skills.

The standard working hours are 37.5 per week, on offer is a salary commensurate with experience + Bonus + Private Health Scheme.
