We are looking for a number of recent Graduates or similar, to do Surveying Assistant contracts involving digital mapping / imagery details and data input, for minimum 3 month contracts in the Warrington area that are highly likely to go much longer. Pay rates are from National Minimum Wage rates up to £10 PAYE pay per hour. These roles will be working from home, but there will be occasional visits to the office in Warrington.
Working as one of the successful Surveying Assistant’s, you will be keen, have a good work ethic, be IT literate (Microsoft Office applications) and have a high level of attention to detail. You will be part of a team that provides a data capture and survey data processing service to a variety of end-clients which are based at various sites around the country.
*Viewing and undertaking distance measurement between assets based upon digital mapping and images (Google Earth)
*Working as part of a small team
*Other reasonable duties as assigned
*Good map reading skills and ideally a working knowledge of GIS
*Good organisational and time management skills
*A high level of professional integrity
*Self-motivated and disciplined
*Exceptional attention to detail
*Good verbal and written communication skills
*Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications
*A willingness to learn and develop new skills
These roles would be ideal for recent Geography, Engineering (or any other subject) graduates, or people with equivalent experience. Additionally, whilst not essential for this role, at least one of the following may be advantageous for potential future roles:
*A good working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS
*Enjoyment of outdoor working and a willingness to work and travel throughout the UK
The Team’s work ranges from high volume asset surveys undertaken in public areas to specialist GIS based drawing and report creation. In association with and in addition to this work the Team also carry out multidisciplinary engineering drawing and data management activities using CAD, GIS and custom software.
This team is currently focused on Utilities but also supports Project Management and Design teams operating within the Chemical, Process, Petrochemical, Manufacturing, and Energy market sectors.
