This month at GPW we’d like to congratulate one of our Divisional Managers, Dave Carr, on his fantastic efforts in completing the Coniston Challenge.
The challenge entails reaching the summit of the Old Man of Coniston and if that wasn’t enough Dave and the team had to endure a 17 Km bike ride through the Grizedale Forest, ending with a very cold 3Km Kayak across the Coniston water.
“It was a once in a lifetime experience, which I am proud to have completed and to have raised so much money for such a fantastic cause. I’d like to thank Hurricane Helen, Ferocious Flis, Raging Rebecca, Deadly Dave and Dan for getting me through and Alder Hey Children’s Charity for organising such a fantastic event!”
“Dangerous Dave“ and his team completed the challenge in a total of 4 hours and 55 minutes and was placed 7th out of 30 which is a fantastic result. All proceeds of the day were donated to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and in excess of £50,000 was raised and donated to the Charity! We’d like to say well done to everyone who took part and all who sponsored the teams taking part.
