A fun night was had by all at the recent GPW staff night out to the Rawhide Comedy Club in Liverpool. After a slightly later departure time than planned, and Kirsty now finally happy with her hair, GPW were all aboard the coach and heading for Liverpool.
The night began with drinks at the Rat & Parrot in Queens Square where new mum Andrea happily sipped her first steamboat in nine months… while secretly checking her phone at regular five minute intervals to check on the baby. Young staff slip away to the pool table for a quick knock around while other staff chat at the bar.
Now warmed up and ready for food the team wander over to the Comedy Club for food prepared by award winning chef Simon Collard of the Liverpool Food Company. The art deco bar, modelled on the lounge of RMS Queen Mary, is the perfect setting for an evening of good food and entertainment. Conversation dies down as food arrives and staff hungrily tuck into the delicious meals served.
Now nursing suitably full stomachs the group is ready for laughs as the compare takes the stage. He works the room taking a moment or two to enquire about our party. When he learns we are from GPW Recruitment he is keen to pick out ‘the boss’, at which point Mark momentarily disappears behind his pint only to be exposed by his team of Directors who kindly point him out to the compare.
The acts put on a great show and keep us chuckling away until the evening comes to a close at 11pm. After drinking up we heard together and head back to the coach for the drive home, which is consequently ‘livelier’ than the journey there. As staff recall the best moments of the evening and attempt to impersonate the acts the coach arrives back in St Helens and a now sleepy team of staff head home.
GPW staff would like to thank management for putting on a fantastic evening and we look forward to the next company outing at Christmas.
