We have a fantastic opportunity for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic teams at Northwich and Winsford locations in Cheshire. The Role
As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, you will undertake planned preventative maintenance, testing, repairs, and new installation work across a wide range of equipment and systems. You will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our production sites, minimising downtime, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily preventative maintenance activities and routine safety inspections.
- Diagnose faults and conduct repairs on plant and site service equipment.
- Execute planned preventative maintenance on production machinery, including extruders and site services.
- Handle breakdowns promptly and efficiently, ensuring PPM schedules are maintained.
- Support and engage in continuous improvement projects.
- Follow and promote stringent health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Provide proactive support to plant and equipment, maximising production output.
- Perform maintenance tasks as directed by the Engineering Manager.
- Respond quickly to unplanned maintenance issues to minimise downtime.
- Maintain accurate and clear written records and technical documentation.
- Involve specialists to resolve complex issues when necessary.
- Conduct training and support for employees in shared maintenance practices.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualifications:
- Recognised Engineer Apprenticeship (electrical, mechanical, or multiskilled) or ONC/BTEC/HNC.
- 18th Edition BS7671 certification. (preferred but not essential)
- Experience:
- Proven track record in production engineering.
- Experience in a production/manufacturing maintenance environment is essential.
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools is desirable.
- Skills and Attributes:
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities.
- Ability to prioritise workload and make confident decisions.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental situations.
- Ambitious, driven, and results-oriented with a positive “can do” attitude.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CMMS.
- Knowledge of Pneumatics, Steam Systems, Hydraulic Systems, PLCs (Siemens S7, S5, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley), HMIs, Robotics, and Inverters.
What We Offer
- Shift Patterns:
- Northwich: 4 on (2 Days / 2 Nights), 4 off
- Winsford: Core hours Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, with an on-call rota every 3rd week
- Salary:
- £41,500 – £47,600 per annum
