We are looking for someone with construction industry training and hands-on construction experience for a permanent Technical Support position in Manchester. The role is to provide a Technical Support service to both internal company personnel and external customers. The salary is circa £18-23000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience), with 23 days holidays plus statutory, performance related bonus and stakeholder pension.

Working as the successful Technical Officer, it is essential that you have:

*Good knowledge / experience of the building construction industry. BTEC or site construction experience, or HNC/HND building construction qualification is preferred, or the equivalent experience.

*Provide Technical support producing quotations and product schedules.

*An understanding of U value calculations (wall structure and insulation calculations). You will not be doing calculations and just need an understanding of them.

*Able to read and take off plans to scale. CAD experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

*Experience in providing technical advice both in a verbal and written format.

*A methodical, confident individual who can remain calm under pressure and show a clear commitment to customer care.

*Excellent IT skills, proactive and a problem solver, quick learner and team player.

*Good customer service and telephone experience.
