Chris is a 21-year-old from Rainford in Merseyside who lost his leg to bone cancer in 2016 and was re-diagnosed in 2017 (with Osteosarcoma). Scans have shown that Chris also has two confirmed tumours located up against his bowel and his prostate in the soft tissue; he has other possible tumours indicated around his ribs and shoulder.
Chris’ best hope of survival is through alternative treatments and clinical trials abroad, which cannot be funded on the NHS. He blogs stories of his journey: ‘The Next Step for Chris’, which can found at https://chriscarberry.co.uk/. Currently, Chris is travelling back and forth to India once every three weeks to undergo one of his treatments and this is the focus of our fundraising.
Chris has already managed to raise £105,735 of his £200,000 goal that is needed to complete the treatment but he still needs to reach his goal.
GPW recruitment are pleased to announce that we will be fundraising for Chris throughout this year. This will include charitable donations made at our annual Golf Day and holding dress-down days every Friday where staff members can each donate a £1 – £10.
Let’s hope we can make a difference in helping Chris to reach his goal and support him on his inspirational journey!
