GPW Compete in the RNLI Reindeer Run

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. They provide a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the coasts of the UK and Republic of Ireland, as well as a seasonal lifeguard service on many of the busiest beaches in England and Wales.

This year RNLI organised ‘Reindeer Runs’ at 13 locations throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland to help raise money for the volunteer crews and lifeguards at RNLI. Last weekend staff at GPW Recruitment attended the Reindeer Run at Knowsley Safari Park. Some took on the 5K run while other more adventurous staff took on the £10K!

With the recent visit from the Personal Training People, staff at GPW were keen to test their abilities and get into shape before the Personal Training People’s next visit where they will have their progress monitored.

Despite the freezing conditions GPW staff had a great time and were all pleased with their finishing times, particularly Managing Director Mark Parish who completed the 10K in a speedy 49mins 33secs! He had the following to say,
‘It was great to see so many from our team brave the cold weather to help raise money for a good cause. There has been a buzz around the office ever since the visit from The Personal Training People so that, along with the Reindeer Run, has certainly inspired people to start working on their fitness. The atmosphere at the event was great and the Christmas music and mince pies on offer certainly got us all in the Christmas spirit. We look forward to next years run and hopefully beating our completion times!’
