GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k 2017 in association with the Steve Prescott Foundation
With a staggering turn out of almost 2000 people, the atmosphere for the GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k 2017 in association with the Steve Prescott Foundation could not have been better, despite the cold and rain, supporters were out in force.
Team GPW had over 20 staff take part who had been training for the last 8 weeks on a Tuesday evening from the GPW offices, the hard work paid off with some staggering personal bests.
Craig Feeney, business consultant of our Design for Manufacturing division, flew round with an unbelievable time of 39minutes and 46 seconds, coming 38th out of his gender category. IT Operations Technician, Will Fairhurst smashed his target with an impressive personal best of 44 minutes.
Not only were the runners facing the elements, but the amazing volunteers and hundreds of spectators and supporters. We would like to say a huge “thank you” to the volunteers for your hard work, words of motivation and incredible support!
Team GPW are delighted to have raised over £600 for the Steve Prescott Foundation so far this year and have other challenges coming up over the next few months to increase this further including “Im A Precky Fan, Get Me Out Of Here and GPW Take On Kilimanjaro Challenge 2017.
It was an incredible day, and wonderful to see a community come together to raise money and awareness for the Steve Prescott Foundation.
Despite the rain, everyone showed that through hard work and determination, anyone can be a North Road survivor!
