We’re proud to announce our 50th anniversary in the industry. Since our inception in 1973, GPW Recruitment has been dedicated to connecting talented individuals with the right opportunities, and has become a trusted recruitment partner for businesses across a wide range of industries throughout the UK and Europe with an annual turnover of c£25m.
GPW Recruitment has evolved and adapted to the changing needs of the job market, consistently delivering innovative and effective recruitment solutions. Today, the company offers a comprehensive range of services, including the supply of temporary and permanent staff, executive search, and more recently helping businesses recruit their own talent by offering bespoke Recruitment Software and Job Board Advertising.
Over the past 50 years, we have had the privilege of connecting talented individuals with companies that match their skills and passions.
“We take pride in our role as a bridge between job seekers and employers, and we look forward to continuing our mission of building successful careers and thriving businesses for another 50 years and beyond.” said Gary Ward, Managing Director of GPW Recruitment.
Throughout its history, GPW Recruitment has been committed to giving back to the community, supporting a variety of charitable organisations and initiatives. Local charities include Willowbrook Hospice, a local charity that provides care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families and The Steve Prescott Foundation, a charity raising funds for the Rugby League Benevolent Fund, Christies Hospital and Special Causes.
One of the most iconic charity events that GPW Recruitment support is the GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k Run, which takes place every March and has been running since 2011. It attracts almost 2000 runners and hundreds of spectators annually.
In November 2019, GPW Recruitment transitioned to become an employee-owned business, meaning the company is now owned by an employee ownership trust (EOT). Chairman, Graham Worsley and his wife Carole, made the decision to sell majority of their shareholding to the EOT to sustain the company’s independence and values, whilst recognising the efforts of its employees and their contribution to GPW’s considerable success.
Graham, who joined the company in 1989, commented on the business celebrating 50 years “What a fantastic achievement and what a journey, through four recessions and one pandemic in my time and we’re still going from strength to strength. One of the major highlights for me was the recent transitioning to become an employee owned business, which rewards all staff for their dedication and commitment and gives them a future to look forward to. Over our 50 years in business we aim, this year, to reach the £50,000 target of charitable donations, a great achievement in itself.”
GPW Recruitment would like to thank its clients, candidates, and partners for their support over the past 50 years, and looks forward to continuing to build strong relationships and making a positive impact in the years ahead.
