Earlier in the year Britain reached a record of 31.42 million people in work, the good news is that record has been beat for the second time this year!
As the most recent statistics show there are now 31.8 million people in work in Britain which is over 600,000 more than last year.
The rise in employment has been predominantly from full time work, which has made up 75% of the growth since 2010.
Today’s labour market statistics also tell us –
• The employment rate of females stands at 69.9% which is its highest since the records began back in 1971.
• At 5.8%, the proportion of 16 to 24 year olds who have left full-time education and are unemployed is close to the lowest on record.
