St Helens Chamber recently celebrated a double success following its flagship Annual Dinner, which took place at the end of last month.
The event, which was sponsored by GPW Recruitment, has been hailed the most successful ever, with over 250 guests attending and an impressive £2300 being raised for charity.
The proceeds from this, and other charity fundraising activities conducted by the Chamber throughout the year, were presented to Nicky Saunders, from Willowbrook Hospice and the Mayor of St Helens, Neil Taylor, on behalf of The Mayor’s Appeal, earlier this week.
Steve Gange, Chairman of St Helens Chamber, presented the cheques, commenting: “This year’s annual dinner was a great success and a very enjoyable evening. Our guest speaker Dennis Taylor, the 1985 world snooker champion, entertained the guests with an array of jokes and trick shots.
“The money raised for the two charities was a great achievement and a lot of fun to raise too.”
The main fundraising event of the evening was a charity auction, which earned winning bidders Marcus and Jan Williams North West Laser & Aesthetics Clinic Ltd, the privilege of taking part in a trick shot set up by Dennis Taylor. His partner Jan bravely took the table to assist Dennis where he managed to pot a black ball that she was balancing on her mouth!
