We are looking for a Civil Engineer with Nuclear industry (an advantage) OR major Infrastructure project experience, for a permanent position working on the Hinkley Point C project in Somerset. Salary up to £58,000 per annum plus benefits with travel and subsistence weekly allowance (not paid if residing in the Bridgwater area).

Working as the successful Civil Engineer, you will need the following experience and qualifications:

*Engineer with recognised civil engineering degree

*Experience in design of concrete and metallic structure

*Experience in Nuclear civil work OR complex structure

*Experience in Structural Civil Work, Civil Design and Construction

*Experience in detailed design or conceptual design in an office or on a civil construction site

*Experience on project dealing with material interfaces

*Nuclear or major Infrastructure project experience

*Good communication and interpersonal skills

*Ability to work in a team as well as on own initiative

*Results focused with the ability to meet commitments & deadlines

*Highly organised with attention to detail

*Ability to identify continuous improvements

*Fluent in English – written & verbal


*Experience with on site design support

*Experience in previous EPR or other nuclear projects

*Experience of working in a fast pace engineering project environment

*French language skills – written & verbal

This role is a member of a large integrated team seconded into Client team focused on providing high quality design, engineering knowledge & expertise. Support the HR Civils Team Lead. As part of a team, under the Team Lead, the Civil Engineer will be responsible for modifying and adapting the design received from the Back Office, substantiating the adapted design of the HR Building reinforced concrete structures on the Hinkley Point C project. The Civil Engineer will be supported by a group of detailed designers. They work closely with the Client and the Clients Tier 1 Civils Contractor.

The civil work design is made on TEKLA and used as a deliverable directly for construction activities for different tasks.

Main Activities:

*Modifying reinforced concrete structure designs compliant with the ETC-C, other relevant codes

*Maintaining Client’s QA procedures in delivering the CW design

*Working with the CAD designers in the preparation of the design drawings/models

*Managing engineering changes in line with company procedures

*Liaising with colleagues in France

Key Relationships:

*Building Layout team (SDLT) (Site)

*Piping Layout team (SDLT) (Site)

*Civils team (France)

*Client (HPC Site)

Key Competencies: Inspiration, Integrity, Involvement. There is also a Service Incentive – on completion of 12-month continuous service in post there is a salary uplift of 5% paid. There is no parking available at HPC site. Free buses are supplied from either Bristol City Centre or from the Park & Ride facility located off the M5 Junction 23.

Security Clearance: BPSS level security clearance required. You will either have it or be eligible to attain it. The criteria is:

*Right to Work – Verification of Nationality, ID documentation and Immigration status

*Identity – ID Data check (electronic identity authentication – name, address, aliases, links, accounts etc.)

*Criminal Records – Search for ‘unspent’ convictions (Basic Disclosure)

*Employment checks – Confirmation of 3 years (minimum) Employment History / Activity
