I am currently recruiting for an Electronics Engineer to work for a key client of mine based in the Wigan area.
This role is based in their head office, working within a busy, vibrant team.
My client designs and manufactures a diverse range of equipment for commercial, sport, military and offshore applications worldwide.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analogue
- Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) design including thermal design for heat sinks and switching components. Appreciation of noise and EMI emissions
- Operational amplifier design including low pass filter, high pass filter, voltage-frequency converter, strain gauge amplifiers
- Linear power supply design including thermal design for heat sinks
- Battery management for both rechargeable and non-rechargeable
- Small signal analogue design with appreciation for noise reduction through PCB layout
- Sensor interface for mechanical switch, magnetic switch, temperature, humidity and pressure
- Power output driver design for analogue drive control including Class A, AB, and D architectures
- Understanding of design for harsh environment, particularly for wide temperature operation
Digital
- Power drivers for resistive and inductive loads including thermal management
- Design of long wire interfaces for remote communication
- Design of high speed circuits including PCB track inductance and capacitance influences
- Thermal management and design for minimum power use
- Digital interfaces including RS232, SPI, I2C, one-wire and LVDS
- ADC and DAC design
Skills and experience:
- Knowledge in CAD Schematic layout and CAD PCB design
- Initial project cost and time estimation
- Hands-on electronics experience
- Software documentation
- Knowledge of DVL’s, SONARS, Underwater Communications would be advantageous
- Knowledge of basic Analog components / circuits and operational amplifier circuits
- Knowledge of CE requirements for electronic products
- Schematic diagram production
- Experience of working within a manufacturing company or similar is preferable
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and safely alone
- Full UK Driving Licence
