GPW Recruitment News

Over the last few months, a lot has happened here at GPW Recruitment, so I thought I would share some of the highlights.

In November 2019, we became an employee-owned business. The Company is now majority owned by an employee ownership trust (EOT). This decision was driven by the desire to sustain the company’s independence and values, whilst recognising the efforts of our employees and their contribution to GPW’s considerable success.
The last few months also saw us celebrate some incredible staff anniversaries. Chris Lamb who heads up our payroll department celebrated an incredible 22 years, Dave Carr Trades Divisional Manager celebrates 13 years and Chris Kenny, who joined us as an apprentice, hits 10 years of service. The average tenure of the staff at GPW including some of the new starters this year is a staggering 6 and 1/2 years.
We also saw two new starters join GPW at the beginning of February. Welcome to Amy Jones our Marketing Consultant and James McNally, our Business Consultant. We look forward to seeing them progress!
We have been making various plans in relation to the planned reform of IR35 in the private sector. If you would like a meeting to discuss this, or you have any questions regarding IR35, please feel free to reply to this email and we will organise to see you. Our LinkedIn Page will continue to share up to date information and guidance on IR35 along with other information.
Improving the mental health of your employees makes them resilient to stress, can improve thinking, decision-making, workflow, and relationships at work. We would like to say a massive “well done” to Carl Foster who is now our first accredited Mental Health First Aid Champion. This is a great addition to our personal development plan.
This year we celebrate the St. Helens 10k for the 10th year running (no pun intended). The GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k is association with the Steve Prescott Foundation takes place on Sunday 1st March; starting and finishing at The Totally Wicked Stadium. With over 2000 entries available, we are delighted that the race has sold out due to tremendous demand. ARE YOU A NORTH ROAD SURVIVOR?
Finally in January, I was appointed Managing Director of GPW Recruitment. It has been a dream of mine for many years to hold this position and I was delighted when I was offered the role by GPW Chairman, Graham Worsley. I am incredibly proud of GPW; I have worked here nearly half my life, our employees are all fantastic and are dedicated to providing an excellent service to our clients. I am looking forward to working with you all this year.
